Former Valiants: Midfielder makes move to Tanzania
Former Port Vale midfielder Ryan Burge has made a somewhat unusual career move.
Burge, who played for the Valiants from 2011 to 2013 is currently training with Azam FC of the Tanzanian Premier League.
Azam FC, known as the “ice cream makers” were league champions in 2014 and are managed by English coach Stewart Hall.
Burge famously fell out of favour with the Vale after a series of tweets following Vale’s defeat to Bristol Rovers in 2013. He subsequently played for Newport County, leaving the Welsh side in 2014.
