Remie Streete player profile:
Young central defender Remie Streete initially signed on loan from Newcastle United. He made his debut in as a sub against Leyton Orient in October 2014 and immediately impressed with his composed defending.
Vale were keen to keep the player but he was recalled by his parent club who were suffering an injury crisis. He was then loaned to Scottish club Glasgow Rangers for the remainder of the season.
However, in the summer of 2015 and following his release from Newcastle United, Streete signed permanently for the Valiants on a two-year contract.
He scored his first senior goal in the 2-0 home win over Southend in August 2016 and enjoyed a strong 2016-17 season in partnership with another youngster Nathan Smith. Although the club were relegated Streete managed six goals and was a near ever-present at the back until he was injured in February.
However, at the end of the season he opted to leave the club when his contract expired as he sought a club at a higher level.
