Port Vale make Paul Bodin their new assistant manager

Former Welsh International Paul Bodin has been confirmed as Rob Page’s assistant manager/first team coach at Vale Park.

Page announced a shake-up of his backroom staff at the end of last season with Mark Grew retiring and Dean Glover returning to the youth coaching ranks.

He’s someone I know very well and I believe he will make a really positive impact here…

The former Wales International had a twenty year playing career including spells with Swindon Town and Reading.

Bodin spent three years as manager at Bath City before being appointed a youth-team coach at Swindon Town in 2008. He was caretaker manager at Town for a spell in 2011.

He has also worked in the Wales national squad coaching team and at Southampton’s renowned youth academy.

Rob Page told the official Port Vale website: “I’m delighted to welcome Paul to Port Vale Football Club.

“He’s someone I know very well and I believe he will make a really positive impact here.”
