A talented striker who arrived for £150,000 from Crewe Alexandra.

He was the leading scorer in the 1996-1997 and 2000-2001 seasons and is one of the club’s top-ten all-time goalscorers.

Naylor, a skilful striker, scored arguably one of the greatest goals ever seen at Vale Park in a game against Sunderland in 1997.

He also appeared in the 2001 LDV Vans Trophy final where he won a penalty for Vale’s first goal and set-up Steve Brooker for the second. He left the Valiants in 2001 to join Cheltenham Town.
