Ryan Brown player profile:
Ryan Brown was a locally-born, attacking left-back who progressed through the Port Vale junior ranks to earn a professional contract in 2003.
He made his senior debut for the club as a substitute against Bristol City in May 2003. When manager Brian Horton left the club, the youngster then became a regular first team member under new Port Vale manager Martin Foyle.
However, after suffering a bad facial injury in a game against QPR and following the arrival of fellow left-back Craig James, Brown lost his starting place in the Port Vale first-team. He had made a total of 44 senior appearances for the club.
He was released in the summer of 2005 and moved into non-league football with spells for Northwich Victoria, Altrincham, Stafford Rangers, Leek Town and Kidsgrove Athletic.
