Time at club: 1935-1947
A long-serving defender who was signed from Everton in 1935.
He was a mainstay of the backline in the 1930’s. He had also played baseball as a second sport and during his time at Vale he also served in the police force and as a cricketer.
He signed up for the police on the outbreak of World War Two and when the war finished returned to the club playing until he was released in 1947 at the age of 35.
