Christophe Horlaville was an experienced French striker who was signed on loan by Port Vale from Le Harve in 1998.
He made a handful of appearances during his two year loan spell in Burslem. He made his debut coming on as a sub in a defeat to Sunderland and he made his first start for the club in a loss to Oxford United. He also came on as a substitute in a League Cup defeat to Liverpool at Vale Park before departing the club.
Horlaville had a thirteen year playing career. He began his playing career at Rouen and also had spells with five other French clubs – Cannes, Guingamp, Le Harve, Metz and Caen. He finished his footballing career with 106 goals from 365 appearances. He was also on the winning side in the 1996 UEFA Intertoto Cup final. After retiring from playing he later became a players’ agent.
