Page puts contract talks to one side
Rob Page says his priority is to finish the season as “strongly as we possibly can” – and that contract talks can wait.
Page told the Sentinel: “Let’s finish the season as strongly as we possibly can. Once that is all done, and we have the points that we want, then we can talk about futures – myself and everyone else included.”
He added: “I have always wanted to be a manager and I have been given this opportunity by the chairman.
“The fans have been absolutely terrific. It has been a difficult season on and off the pitch for everybody with Micky leaving so early on and the uncertainty that surrounded all that.
“But from the first minute I think they have seen what I am trying to implement.
“We always said it was going to be a work in progress and a lot of hard work. We have gone from second-bottom, and then potentially to the dizzy heights of the play-offs, but then just fell by the wayside a little bit. But we are going to have one more big push, hence the three players coming in. Then what happens after that will take care of itself.”
