Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite has indicated that the club may take legal action over a Sunday Star article linking Ched Evans with a move to Vale.
Convicted rapist Evans has been linked with a move to a League One club and despite most media outlets claiming that Oldham Athletic is the club concerned, the Sunday Star said that Evans was set to move to Vale Park.
Looking forward to dialogue with your Lawyers…
Smurthwaite has denied any Vale move for the striker and in a tweet he suggested that legal action may be taken.
Smurthwaite tweeted: “FAO Jeremy Cross Daily Sunday Star.Check your facts before you try to tarnish my great Club Looking forward to dialogue with your Lawyers.”
