The FA says Vale need a third kit (we disagree)
In a somewhat dubious decision, the FA have told Port Vale that both of their current kits are “not acceptable” for the away game against Notts County.
Here at OVF Towers, we are somewhat bemused by the decision. While we can understand that the Vale home kit would clash, our split picture (above) shows that there is no excuse for the Vale away kit being mistaken for the County home kit. Particularly, if Vale (as they have done in the past) pair the gold and black shirts with white shorts.
Nevertheless, the Vale have issued a third-kit (which can be ordered by calling 01782 655838) in order to satisfy the FA dictat.
A club statement reads: “The Football League have advised us that both our current home and away shirts are not acceptable to use when we face Notts County at Meadow Lane on Saturday 28th February.
“We have, therefore, had no option other than to bring in a change away shirt for the game – a shirt which we will continue to use occasionally both this season and next.”
