Cuvelier excited about Vale Park return
Sheffield United midfielder Florent Cuvelier says he is “excited about returning there, not scared” as he prepares to return to Vale Park for the first time since a serious knee injury.
Cuvelier was making his loan debut for the Valiants back in January when he suffered a serious knee injury. It meant that the Frenchman suffered several months out of the game but he has battled back and is set to be in the Sheff Utd to visit Vale on Boxing Day.
The fans have never seen the best of me, but in time I believe I will be a better player than before…
Cuvelier told the official Sheff Utd website: “These things happen in football and now with the benefit of time, the injury has helped me as a person and as a footballer.
“It helped me realise what I had, I am fortunate to be able to do something I love as a job and when you can’t do that because of such a serious injury it stops you taking everything for granted.
“I am excited about returning there, not scared, hopefully I can continue to take my chances and impress the manager because I certainly have some unfinished business at Bramall Lane.
“The fans have never seen the best of me, but in time I believe I will be a better player than before.
“It will be another tough game, Port Vale are a good side, especially at home.”
