Crawley boss: Vale just aren’t sexy…
If you don’t want to read about veteran manager John Gregory talking about sex appeal, it’s probably best to stop reading right now…
Anyway, in his pre-match talk with the media, Gregory said he would need to motivate his team against the Valiants because it wasn’t as sexy a game.
Port Vale at home is not such a sexy tie as coming to Ashton Gate so we have to motivate ourselves…
Gregory said: “I’ve challenged my team to play like that next week in front of 3,000 people. What they’ve done today, can they reproduce that?
“Without any question, coming to Bristol City, I didn’t have to say anything to the boys, you don’t need to motivate them, they’re coming to Bristol City, they’re top of the league.
“I didn’t need to make any motivational speeches before the game, but next week, Port Vale at home is not such a sexy tie as coming to Ashton Gate so we have to motivate ourselves.
“I challenged the boys, can they go out and do it? They set the bar and I expect that to be repeated.”
