Team news
Ryan McGivern: back but set for the bench?
Vale welcome back defensive duo Richard Duffy and Ryan McGivern from suspension/International duty so the big question is whether Rob Page sticks or twists with the defence. In his short reign, Page has tended to pick a winning team so we reckon he may stick with the defence that kept a clean sheet against Rochdale. With Sam Johnson out on loan, Ryan Boot is set to be the reserve keeper.
It’s set to be a much-changed Milton Keynes after they rested several key players for their cup tie against Vale. Karl Robinson is only missing the injured George Baldock.
Possible Vale starting XI:
Neal
Yates – Veseli – Robertson – Dickinson
Brown
Marshall – Lines – O’Connor – Daniel
N’Guessan
Pre-match quote
“We’ll go there and try and tighten up more than when we played them at home and see how it goes…

It was a mere 14 days ago that the sides met in an FA Cup clash. Dany N’Guessan scored his first Vale goals with a double but the Valiants lost out 4-3 in a seven goal thriller.
Overall record
- Vale wins: 3
- Milton Keynes wins: 2
- Draws: 2
Trivia
The Valiants have never won an away fixture against Milton Keynes. Their best performance is a 1-1 draw in 2004 with a Lee Matthews (right) strike earning Vale a draw.
However, it could be another entertaining affair. Of the six games between the sides, only one (the game at Vale Park in 2005) has finished goalless.

Chris Lines: had a spell on loan with Milton Keynes
Vale’s midfielder Chris Lines spent a spell on loan with the opposition back in 2013. He played 18 games and is still highly regarded by the Milton Keynes supporters. Other players to appear for both sides include:
- Midfielder Jay O’Shea
- Winger Jemal Johnson
- Winger Dominic Blizzard
- Midfielder Malvin Kamara
