Vale wait on Osbourne decision
Port Vale have offered a contract to midfielder Isaiah Osbourne but face competition from a League One rival.
The 26 year old former Blackpool midfielder has been training with the Valiants and can sign outside the transfer window because he is a free agent. The player is expected to make a decision in the next 24 hours.
Osbourne would provide quality back-up for first-choice midfield duo Michael O’Connor and Chris Lines. Veteran Michael Brown is also an option but he is also increasingly involved in coaching duties while summer signing Steve Jennings appears to be out of favour after not playing since the 6th September.
Following the arrivals of Remie Streete, Stephane Zubar, Reiss Greenidge and potentially Osbourne, it is expected that a number of players could exit Vale Park. Out-of-favour duo Chris Robertson and Steve Jennings are likely to top the list while the likes of Ryan Lloyd and Nathan Smith could also be loaned out to give them first-team experience.
