Two notable Port Vale autographs
Ahead of our Vale Vaults exhibition, here is a sneak preview of a couple more of the items that will be on display.
These items are from OVF’s own collection and should both be on display at Vale Vaults.
The first autograph needs little introduction as it’s from the ultimate Port Vale legend Roy Sproson. The one-club man made 837 starts plus five sub appearances during a twenty two year playing career and we hope to feature several Roy Sproson items at the event.
The second autograph may be a name less familiar to some Vale fans. But defender John Nicholson was a dependable figure at the club for four years from 1961 to 1965. He made 208 consecutive appearances but after joining Doncaster Rovers in 1966 he was tragically killed in a road accident.
