Streete signs, goes straight into squad…
Port Vale sign Remie Streete: the defender could make his first senior start in football after agreeing a loan deal with Port Vale FC.
Newcastle United youngster Streete has joined the Vale on loan until the 5th November and is poised to start the game on Saturday. The young defender had been linked with a possible move to the Valiants for some weeks previously.
Interim manager Rob Page commented: “Myself and the chairman watched him against Arsenal and obviously he has been in and amongst Newcastle’s first team.
“They think a lot of him there, we were impressed with what we saw at the game and we feel that if we can get players of his ability and quality in and amongst the lads then it can only benefit the boys we’ve already got here.”
In search of a first clean sheet of the season, Page may turn to Streete to strengthen the Valiants defence. He will compete with the likes of Richard Duffy, Ryan McGivern and Chris Robertson in the central defensive positions.
