Reserves line-up hints at changes?
Port Vale have announced their line-up for Wednesday’s reserve game against Walsall and tellingly it contains just three first-team squad members.
Usually, fans would expect the likes of Sam Johnson, Byron Moore, Chris Robertson, Freddie Veseli, Remie Streete, Steve Jennings, Colin Daniel and Michael Brown to be included after none of them featured in Tuesday’s disappointing draw with Scunthorpe.
However, the 18-man squad for Wednesday only three senior players in youngsters Ryan Lloyd, Nathan Smith and Reiss Greenidge – who arguably are not in realistic contention for Saturday’s game.
Manager Rob Page was clearly upset with the team’s performance on Tuesday and strongly hinted at changes, commenting: “It is about getting wins and if it means that we have to make changes then we will do it.”
Could this mean that some of the unused squad players may find themselves in contention for a recall to the starting eleven?
