Earle lies in fifth place in the club’s all-time scorers list with ninety goals.

The teams come out for the game against Grimsby and the home fans burst into a rendition of “Aspo’s coming home” to serenade the club’s new manager.

The last time Vale had a home FA Cup tie against Hartlepool this happened… let’s hope for something similar on Sunday!

It’s a dramatic end to the game in October 1988 as Vale playmaker Ray Walker scores a late winner.
