Adams proving his critics wrong
OVF editor Rob Fielding thinks it’s right to praise manager Micky Adams after a hugely promising start to the season.
Rob Fielding writes…
At the moment, it’s fair to say that Micky Adams stock with Vale fans is pretty high. OK, it’s not yet on a par with the euphoria that followed his miraculous, against the odds promotion in 2013 but this has been a hugely promising start to the season and one where the Vale boss has proved a few critics wrong. Let’s look at a few of those criticisms:
This has been a hugely promising start to the season and one where the Vale boss has proved a few critics wrong…
Always favours experience over youth? Well, witness the brave selections of Sam Johnson and Freddie Veseli.
Always favours brawn over brains? Well, witness the pairing of O’Connor and Lines in midfield over the more battling qualities of Brown and Jennings.
Too abrasive? Well, witness the sensitive and compassionate treatment of a grieving Byron Moore.
It’s too early to say whether this season will continue on a high. It’s a long haul. But right now, I think it’s the right time to give praise where praise is due and congratulate the manager on a fine start to our second season in League One.
