Port Vale sign Michael O’Connor
Port Vale have announced their third signing of the day with the news that midfielder Michael O’Connor has agreed a contract.
Northern Ireland International O’Connor joins fellow midfielders Steve Jennings and Michael Brown in signing for the club.
The experienced O’Connor played for Vale in a pre-season friendly but he appeared to be leaving the club after missing the next two games and appearing to suggest that he would have to take a drop in wages. The club will no doubt be delighted that he has had a change of heart.
Manager Micky Adams said: “Michael is a real quality player and I have to say well done to Norman who has worked extremely hard to get this over the line. It looked dead in the water yesterday but he’s resurrected it.
“I’m sure the fans will like what they see when Michael plays because he’s an all-round midfield player. He can pass, he can score goals and he’s really competitive as well.”
