Adams hails Veseli ‘potential’
Manager Micky Adams was delighted after adding ‘versatile’ loan signing Freddie Veseli to the Valiants squad.
The versatile Veseli can play in midfield or across the backline but he is primarily seen as competition for Adam Yates in Vale’s right-back position.
Adams told the Sentinel: “He’s a right-back but also quite versatile, he can play centre-half as well as in midfield. We see him really as a right-back challenging for that spot.
He’s been with Manchester City, Manchester United and Ipswich and there is a lot of potential there…
“He’s quick, he can handle the ball and he’s got decent pedigree, although if you look at the amount of games he’s played it probably doesn’t reflect that.
“He’s been with Manchester City, Manchester United and Ipswich and there is a lot of potential there.”
Veseli’s signing should mean that Vale will not be looking at any more additions to their backline.
This summer, Vale have lost Joe Davis and Liam Chilvers but have brought in Ryan McGivern and Colin Daniel (who can play at left-back) and promoted Nathan Smith from the junior ranks. The addition of Veseli will mean Vale have cover across the whole of the defence.
