Shuker confirms his retirement
Veteran midfielder Chris Shuker has confirmed that he will be retiring from playing at the end of this season.
The 31 year-old has suffered from injuries this season, making just eleven appearances. In February, manager Micky Adams explained that Shuker was suffering from a “chronic knee problem” and suggested that the midfielder’s career could be in doubt.
One of the best crossers in the Vale side, Shuker joined in 2012 and initially played for free as the club were suffering financial difficulties.
He agreed a permanent switch later that year and made 34 appearances during the side’s promotion season of 2012-13.
We would like to thank Chris for his contribution and wish him the best for the future.
