The Sunday People newspaper claims that Bradford City could sign Port Vale target Billy Knott.
Editorial Note
This feature contains rumour and speculation. All of these rumours should be treated as unconfirmed gossip until any move is officially announced by the club itself. We make no apologies for publishing some rumour and gossip (after all, even the state broadcaster, the BBC, publishes a daily Football Gossip column) but we’d just like to reiterate that this feature should not be treated too seriously.
Knott was in impressive form while on loan from Sunderland and following his release, the Valiants have offered the midfielder a contract.
The youngster is clearly seen as a future star by the club who have allowed Anthony Griffith to leave, presumably in expectation that Knott will take his place in the starting eleven.
Knott has indicated that he has been impressed by manager Micky Adams and that Adams’s future would have a bearing on his decision whether to accept Vale’s offer or not.
However, there is confusion over the future of the Vale manager and that delay could prove costly if other teams move in to offer rival offers to Knott and Vale’s other out-of-contract players.
