Peterborough United 0-0 Port Vale
Chris Shuker said farewell to his playing career as the Valiants finished the season with a quiet goalless draw with Peterborough.
Micky Adams made one change with Gavin Tomlin coming into the starting eleven. Peterborough made a number of changes as they started preparations for the play-offs.
In a quiet first period, Louis Dodds had Vale’s best chance while Posh’s Kyle Vassell missed a great one-on-one opportunity. Meanwhile, Gavin Tomlin was forced off through injury on 41 minutes to be replaced by Jordan Hugill.
As the game meandered, Chris Shuker came on for a deserved farewell performance as he replaced Myrie-Williams. It was Shuker’s final game before he retired from the game.
When the final whistle went, it would be no surprise if Vale fans wonder who else could be joining Shuker in departing Vale Park. Manager Micky Adams and fourteen players will be deciding their fate soon and most supporters will be hoping that most, if not all, stay for next season.
