Former Valiants: Wimbledon sign Rigg
AFC Wimbledon have completed the signing of former Port Vale winger Sean Rigg.
Rigg joins the Dons on a free transfer after he was released by Oxford United.
The 25 year-old joined the Valiants in 2010, initially on loan, from Bristol Rovers. The move was made into a permanent one and Rigg spent two years with Vale before departing for Oxford in 2012.
Dons boss Neal Ardley told the club website: “I have always liked Sean when he’s played against us and been impressed when I’ve watched him in games.
“I contacted a few people that I trust at Oxford and the feedback I got was that they were stunned that he’d been released because he was one of their better players.
“That’s really positive. Sean works really hard, he’s quick and direct, and can score goals, which is obviously an area we are trying to improve upon.”
