Following the news of Carl Dickinson signing, the Valiants have been dealt a blow as former loanee Billy Knott has opted to join rivals Bradford City.
Knott was a success at the Valiants last season and he was offered a contract when his loan spell expired and he was released by parent club Sunderland. Many fans were hoping that he would join on a permanent basis.
However, the former young midfielder has opted to join the Bantams and he commented: “I’m glad to have this move completed quite early in the summer and I can go away and prepare for pre-season properly now.
“I can’t wait to get started and give it 100 per cent. That is the way I like to train and I like to play, and I’ll try to be no different here. “
