Adams: I don’t want to walk away
Manager Micky Adams has hinted that he’d like to extend his stay with the Valiants after telling the press that he was sure his “future will get sorted” at Vale Park.
Adams’ contract saga has lasted all season and there is still no firm indication that the manager wants to stay although his comments following the 0-0 draw with Peterborough will offer some encouragement.
I know that I could walk away with my head held high. But I don’t want to do that and I’m sure my future will get sorted…
Adams said: “I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved at this club. It has been a tough club to manage and I know that I could walk away with my head held high.
“But I don’t want to do that and I’m sure my future will get sorted. I’ve received a written offer from the chairman now and that is in the hands of my solicitor.
“The players have all been a credit to the club and it was good to end the season in such resilient style. We didn’t just want to let it fizzle out after a couple of defeats.”
