OVF News Digest
Several items of interest to Vale fans including – Jeff Kent’s Walsall book signing, a charity walk and an unbeaten Port Vale Ladies team.
Walsall book signing
A special edition of Jeff Kent’s book “What If There Had Been No Port In The Vale?” is being launched at the Vale Club Shop from 1.45pm to 2.45pm on the 5th April before the Walsall home game.
The books are signed by Micky Adams and the first-team squad and Jeff will be there on the day to sign copies and write personalised messages.
Charity walk
A group of Walsall fans will be walking to the Vale game on Saturday. They aim to raise money for the Royal Marsden Hospital, in memory of WPC Julie Skidmore, who passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. Collections will be held outside the away turnstiles if Vale fans would like to support their efforts.
Ladies team still unbeaten
Hamil Road Ladies continued their unbeaten start to 2014 as they beat Tamebridge LFC 2-0 in Walsall.
Goals from Kimberley Trotter, who has now scored thirty goals this season, and a second half strike from Rehanne Mellor secured a comfortable victory for the travelling Valiants.
Hamil Road Ladies have now gone five games unbeaten since the turn of the year with Sunday’s victory following on from a 2-2 draw away to high flying Brereton and a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town. The result leaves the Valiant’s in contention for the Staffordshire County Women’s League title with up to three games in hand on other challengers.
