Lloyd delighted after long-awaited start
Port Vale’s Ryan Lloyd told the media he was delighted after he made his first senior start for the club.
Lloyd made his first appearance in the first-team back in 2010 but until this weekend, all his previous ten appearances have been from the bench.
It feels great to have started. You train for all those years then finally I have been on the main stage…
The 20 year-old was once handed a trial at Premier League side Fulham but he has largely been a forgotten man at Vale Park until he was handed his first-ever start for the Valiants. Lloyd has largely been restricted to reserve appearances and a loan spell at Tamworth this season, having failed to make a Vale appearance before this weekend.
However, Lloyd impressed when employed on the wing against Milton Keynes and the player told the media: “It feels great to have started. You train for all those years then finally I have been on the main stage.
“All the family were here – aunties, uncles, my girlfriend, they were all here. It was tricky getting the tickets.”
Lloyd is out of contract in the summer and will be keen to impress in the remaining games of the season.
