Injured Loft: I am angry
Injured skipper Doug Loft has told Sky Sports news that he is still angry about the altercation that has caused him to miss the rest of the season.
At the minute, I am angry. I have been playing really well and I was getting a lot of interest. I knew people were watching me. I am annoyed and upset that I will miss the rest of the season…
Loft was injured during a training ground incident with former Vale player Dan Jones. Jones was released with immediate effect earlier this week and on Tuesday the Sun revealed that Loft had suffered a broken jaw, broken cheekbone and broken nose.
Talking to Sky Sports News Loft said: “I’ve gone in for a slide tackle… and then I think he thinks I’ve caught him and as I’m getting up off the floor and not even looking he’s hit me. I just fell backwards and sat on the floor and all the lads ran over and then the gaffer obviously sent him in and I had to go to hospital for x-rays.
“I’ve never had a problem with Jonesy and I’m pretty sure he’s never had a problem with me. I don’t know why it happened… He texted me on the day. He just said ‘sorry’ and that was it.
