Adams: Disciplinary action will follow incident
Manager Micky Adams has told the media that the club will take “disciplinary action” after a training ground “incident.”
People can speculate all they like but fans can rest assured that an investigation will take place and we’ll deal with it accordingly, severely if needs be…
There has been much speculation about the cause of an injury to captain Doug Loft with fans who apparently witnessed Thursday’s training claiming that Loft and Daniel Jones were involved in an altercation. Neither player was involved in the game against County.
Adams told BBC Radio Stoke after the match against Notts County that: “For legal reasons, there is very little I can actually say.
“On the training ground, there was an incident between two players that resulted in one player, who I should add is an innocent party, receiving a facial injury that has ruled him out.
“The other player will be party to a club disciplinary action. Until that is concluded, we won’t be issuing a further statement.
“It has been a poor week for us once again. Incidents like we had on Thursday are disappointing when they happen but it will be dealt with internally.
“People can speculate all they like but fans can rest assured that an investigation will take place and we’ll deal with it accordingly, severely if needs be.”
