Vale face weakened Tranmere side
The Valiants are set to face a Tranmere Rovers side who will be missing their so-called “three amigos” in midfield this Saturday.
Steve Jennings has joined skipper James Wallace and former Welsh international Jason Koumas on the casualty list. The three midfielders, dubbed the “three amigos” by manager John McMahon will miss a game that is vital to Tranmere’s hopes of avoiding relegation.
McMahon told the media: “We are struggling on the injury front. We are trying to get the players right but the fact is, ‘The Three Amigos’, the most influential players, are very doubtful to figure on Saturday.
“Steve Jennings has a swelling on his knee. We hoped we might have got rid of the swelling this week but Steve is struggling with it at the moment. It is unlikely any of the three will figure.”
In contrast, Liam Chilvers is the only Vale player to be ruled out of the game through injury although Chris Lines is suspended.
