Dickinson pleased with effort
Port Vale defender Carl Dickinson says he was “pleased with the way we played” against Leyton Orient.
I thought we gave it a really good go and if you are going to get beat you want to do it in that way…
Vale lost a controversial encounter 2-0 and Dickinson commented: “We were desperately unlucky. The goal just before half time was a great strike to be fair to them but it was against the run of play.
“I thought we started off really well with a good tempo and we really put them under some pressure so to come in at half time one-nil down was a bit gutting.
“We came out in the second half and tried to keep our foot on the pedal and tried to take the game to them again and I think we did do the same in the second half.
“It was just sloppy bit of marking again from us and it has cost us but then we were chasing the game, and things opened up a bit.
“But over all I am pleased with the way we played, especially considering the last five or six weeks where we haven’t been good enough by our standards.
“I thought we gave it a really good go and if you are going to get beat you want to do it in that way.”
