Smurthwaite: contract talks have begun
Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite says that initial contract talks with manager Micky Adams have begun – although a written offer is yet to be made.
There is no hidden agenda, I want Micky to stay, as do the fans and the staff…
Smurthwaite told The Sentinel he and Adams have discussed the major points of the proposed new deal, but says there has been no written offer to the manager because of his workload running the club.
The chairman said: “I believe Micky is happy with the bullet points, I just haven’t prepared a contract.
“The situation is ongoing. I don’t have a problem with Micky and I don’t believe he has a problem with me.
“There is no hidden agenda, I want Micky to stay, as do the fans and the staff.”
