Grew praises Knott’s contribution
Assistant manager Mark Grew has praised loanee Billy Knott’s performance after the Sunderland midfielder came on as a sub against Gillingham.
He came on at Gillingham and he played a part in us getting on top of the game late on and he has done himself no harm in earning a place on Saturday…
Knott’s appearance coincided with Vale scoring two late goals in a 3-2 defeat and Grew was impressed with Knott’s performance.
He told the official Port Vale website: “He came on at Gillingham and he played a part in us getting on top of the game late on and he has done himself no harm in earning a place on Saturday.
“He is excellent n the ball and he plays really good balls into strikers’ feet and on set-pieces he can knock a great ball into the box and I am looking forward to Billy starting a game.”
