Former Valiant in cancer battle
Former Port Vale player Kris Taylor has revealed that he is suffering from cancer. Taylor announced the news via Twitter on Friday.
His tweet read:
“Been a tough few days but looking forward to the game today.”
He later added:
“Since being hit with the C bombshell on Friday the support has been overwhelming so thanks it’s appreciated.”
Taylor, who now plays for Hednesford Town, decided to play for his team on Saturday and scored in 1 -1 draw against Lee Sinnott’s Altrincham side.
Hednesford supporters are planning a sixth minute applause and song in support of the player during the clash with Solihull on February 15th.
Manager Rob Smith said: “It was an emotional day, with his scoring that goal as well. It was the most emotional dressing room I have seen. We are right behind him and he will get through it.”
Taylor is set to undergo an operation on Thursday.
All of us at OVF would like to pass our best wishes on to Kris and his family.
