Second player linked with Vale move
The Sunderland Echo is reporting that AFC Sunderland youngster Billy Knott could be on his way to Vale Park on loan.
There has been speculation that Knott could be a target for League One Port Vale, who are keen to bolster their squad…
Knott was due to finish his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers at the end of this month, but Sunderland have opted to end the ex-Chelsea youngster’s loan a fortnight early.
This has lead to speculation that Knott could be on his way to Vale Park with the Echo commenting “There has been speculation that Knott could be a target for League One Port Vale, who are keen to bolster their squad…”
Knott could be joined by Florent Cuvelier at Port Vale after the Belgian midfielder was linked to a loan move by the Sheffield Star.
According to the Star: “Florent Cuvelier missed the fixture with County after an unidentified club, believed to be Port Vale, lodged an approach to capture the midfielder on a temporary basis.”
Blades manager Nigel Clough told the newspaper: “There’s a chance of Flo going out on loan and that’s why he didn’t feature because, although it’s not done yet, we feel it’s reasonably close.”
Neither player would be eligible for Tuesday’s cup replay against Plymouth. Only players registered at the time of the first game are eligible to play in the match.
