Former Vale keeper turns to wrestling
Former Port Vale goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson has moved to the USA in a bid to join the WWE wrestling franchise.
Tomlinson tweeted: “Looking forward to a new job WWE. Swapping two posts and a net, with four posts and ropes – USA bound!”
The former Valiant was forced to retire from the game in July due to a knee ligament injury. He joined the Valiants in 2010 and made 81 appearances before joining Burton Albion.
Tomlinson, seemingly unafraid of unusual career choices has also posed as a male model. During his time at Vale he even appeared on an episode of ITV’s “Loose Women.”
Other unusual post-Vale careers:
- Mick Miller: After leaving Vale’s youth team he became a comedian
- Colin Grainger: Became a professional singer
