Another Port Vale youngster goes on loan
Winger Wilson Carvalho has followed in the footsteps of Jordan Hugill and Ryan Lloyd by going out on loan. Carvalho has joined Hemel Hempstead Town on a month’s loan.
Hemel Hempstead currently play in the Southern League Premier Division.
Former Fulham and Stevenage youngster Carvalho joined Vale in the summer as part of a ten player development squad. He played a part in Vale’s summer friendly schedule but has been unable to force his way into the Vale first-team picture.
However, fellow development squad member Jordan Hugill forced his way into the first-team squad after impressive displays for Gatesheads and Carvalho will no doubt be hoping for a similar impact.
In October, manager Micky Adams said that he welcomed any of the side’s squad players going on loan commenting: “Anybody in the development squad or that reserve squad, we are quite open to suggestions of them going out on loan, providing it‘s the right club and they look after them in the right manner.
“Jordan Hugill went to Gateshead and they looked after him and gave him that confidence and a little bit of belief that he perhaps needed and he has come back and we are reaping the rewards of that now.
“That avenue is open to everybody at the club who isn’t in the first team at the moment, so we’ll take it as it comes.”
