Jones still a doubt for Orient match
Left-back Daniel Jones remains doubtful for Vale’s trip to Leyton Orient as he recovers from a groin strain.
I thought we defended better. Although they hit the bar in the first few minutes, after that we looked quite comfortable…
Jones missed the games against Bury and Carlisle United and if he is ruled out again, Liam Chilvers is set to remain in central defence with Carl Dickinson switching to left-back.
The Vale certainly seem happy with their new-look defence with assistant Mark Grew noting: “I thought we defended better. Although they hit the bar in the first few minutes, after that we looked quite comfortable.”
Micky Adams could stick with the same starting eleven that began the Carlisle game but after praising the contributions of substitutes Jennison Myrie-Williams, Kaid Mohamed and Gavin Tomlin, all three could come into contention for a starting place.
