Vale to trial defenders
In recent weeks, Micky Adams has admitted that “it doesn’t take a genius” to realise that Vale lack numbers in defence and the Vale will play two trialists in the game against Kidderminster on Friday evening.
We’re looking at a couple of centre-halves who are on trial at the moment and both will play tonight…
Centre-halves Darren Purse, Clayton McDonald and John McCombe all left at the end of the season with just Chris Robertson joining the Vale ranks. Robertson, Liam Chilvers and Joe Davis remain the club’s only recognised central defenders.
Adams told the Sentinel: “We’re looking at a couple of centre-halves who are on trial at the moment and both will play tonight.
“I’m not saying who they are yet, but we’ll have a look and see how they get on.
“We’ll take everyone with us to Kidderminster, and the lads who didn’t start against Derby will all start the game.
