Port Vale have signed former Championship player Chris Lines on a one-year contract.
He has played in the Championship, in addition to League One and has also experienced promotion. That calibre of player can only be a bonus for the squad…
The central midfielder, 27, will link up with the rest of the squad for pre-season training after putting pen to paper on the deal with Micky Adams’ men. He is a free agent after having his contract cancelled by Sheffield Wednesday earlier this week.
Lines made 53 appearances for the Hillsborough side, including playing a pivotal role in the side which won promotion from League One to the Championship in 2012. He will be no stranger to Vale full-back Danny Jones, who also signed for Micky Adams from Sheffield Wednesday.
Adams said: “Chris is a tall, strong central midfielder who has a wealth of experience at this level. He will add something to our squad and I’m looking forward to him joining us.
