Port Vale boosted by positive injury news
The Valiants have been given a boost with the news that most, if not all, of their injured players could be available for the start of the season.
We’ve been upping the tempo for them and we have to keep waiting to see how their bodies react…
Vale have been hit hard in defence with Adam Yates, Richard Duffy, Joe Davis, Liam Chilvers and Dan Jones all suffering knocks while captain Doug Loft missed the last friendly game against Leicester.
Assistant manager Mark Grew confirmed to the Sentinel that: “Most of the lads are on the way back now and we’re hopeful.
“There’s an important few days ahead for them, but they’re on the right track.
“They’ve all been working on the pitch with the physio (Andy Foster) and I’d say they’ve all got a chance of featuring next week.
“We’ve been upping the tempo for them and we have to keep waiting to see how their bodies react.
“If they’re OK, then we can push on again, but hopefully they’ll all be involved at Stafford.”
