Vale seek more for Morsy
The Sentinel reports that Vale want Chesterfield to increase their compensation offer for midfielder Sam Morsy.
If Vale want too much money, then the deal simply won’t happen because Chesterfield obviously have to work within their own budget…
Morsy has decided to leave the Valiants after turning down a contract offer, but as he is aged under 24 Vale will be eligible for compensation.
Morsy’s agent Matt Kleinman confirmed that Chesterfield do want to sign the player telling the newspaper: “Chesterfield want Sam and he’d like to join, but there can be no talks about wages until a compensation package has been sorted.
“If Vale want too much money, then the deal simply won’t happen because Chesterfield obviously have to work within their own budget.
“But I hope something can be sorted out for Sam’s sake.”
Morsy was appreciative of his time at Vale telling the Sentinel: “The staff and everyone were a massive help and I’d like to thank them all.
“But it’s time for me to progress my career.
“I wasn’t playing a lot towards the end of last season and I want to be somewhere where I’m getting games.”
