Page set for ‘top secret’ Blades talks
The Sheffield Star reports that Vale coach Rob Page is set for a final phase of talks with Sheffield United at a “top secret location.”
Page is rumoured be one of the leading contenders for the vacant manager’s position and according to the newspaper Page has “impressed Bramall Lane’s hierarchy during two previous discussions.”
The newspaper claims that Page was “immediately invited to deliver another presentation at a top secret location in England this afternoon.”
Page’s rivals for the job are rumoured to include former Blackpool, Portsmouth and Blackburn boss Michael Appleton and Chris Morgan, who was appointed caretaker manager towards the end of last season.

The former defender has been widely credited (along with manager Micky Adams) with playing a key role in Vale’s promotion last season. Page, who has achieved UEFA A and B License qualifications, originally joined as a youth team coach before his promotion to the first team in the summer.
