Wildes to Wolves: Micky’s our man
Chairman Paul Wildes has issued a ‘hands off’ warning to clubs aiming to tempt manager Micky Adams away from Vale Park.
He’s got a great CV but he’s our man and we’re looking forward to him leading us into League One…
Earlier this week, Adams was listed as joint-third favourite for the vacant manager’s position at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wildes told the Sentinel: “Micky is our manager and he’s under contract.
“No-one from Wolves or anywhere else has been in touch with me about him and I don’t expect them to.
“Micky’s bound to attract attention because of the job he has done here.
“That’s just one of the things that happens when you enjoy success. Other clubs will look at us and want the same for themselves.
“I’d put something like this down to the rumour mill that goes on at this time of year.
“We said no to one or two people in January and Micky didn’t want to speak to anyone else.
“The situation hasn’t changed in that respect.
“He’s now had four promotions and he’s managed in the Premier League.
“He’s got a great CV but he’s our man and we’re looking forward to him leading us into League One.”
