Rumour: Vincent to Rotherham?
The Sentinel is reporting that Steve Evans’ Rotherham United are showing interest in Port Vale winger Ashley Vincent.
Vincent, who joined Vale in the summer of 2012 has been offered a new contract by the club and this could be the now familiar summer agent talk, where agents seek to get the best possible deal for their player by linking players to a number of other clubs. Similarly, Dan Jones has also been linked to Preston and Gillingham.
According to the newspaper, Rotherham have been given an ‘big budget’ and may seek to offer the winger a more lucrative deal than that proposed by the Vale.
Vincent enjoyed an impressive first-half of the season as alognside fellow winger Jennison Myrie-Williams, he provided a string of chances for top-scorer Tom Pope. But a combination of injury and loss of form meant he had a less successful end to the campaign.
