Dickinson still eyes Vale deal
The Sentinel reports that long-term Vale target Liam Dickinson is still hopeful of a contract with the club – providing he can prove his fitness.
I think Micky wants him, so the only potential stumbling block is his fitness…
The striker initially joined the club on trial last summer but any move for the forward was put on hold after he required a second operation on a previously broken ankle. However, the forward has continued to train at the club and Vale reportedly have the first option on the player.
Dickinson’s agent, Vale legend Phil Sproson, told the newspaper: “He loved it there, he likes the set-up and he’d like to be part of it next season.
“He wants to come and I think Micky wants him, so the only potential stumbling block is his fitness.
“He had a second op on his ankle in January and things have been going well.
“He’s a long way down the road to recovery and will spend time at both Stockport (near his home) and Vale in the summer.”
