Vale set to make changes for Shots game
Despite the team’s much-needed win over York City last Saturday, injuries and International call-ups will see Micky Adams making changes to his winning side.
Midfielder Chris Birchall is on International duty. Skipper Doug Loft, having served a suspension, is the favourite to replace him.
Dan Jones is likely to return at left-back with Rob Taylor dropping out. Taylor was a late replacement for Jones at York after the former Sheff Wed man pulled up in training. But somewhat ironically, it is Taylor who has now picked up an injury and the fit-again Jones is set to slot in at left-back.
Elsewhere, Micky Adams has options with Richard Duffy back to full fitness and challenging Adam Yates for the right-back spot while midfielder Sam Morsy has also returned from suspension.
In addition to Birchall and Taylor, Darren Purse (calf injury), Ryan Burge (internal suspension) and Ashley Vincent (ankle) are all unavailable.
The missing men:
- Birchall (International duty)
- Taylor (hand)
- Purse (calf)
- Burge (internal suspension)
- Vincent (ankle)
