Chairman: Burge could still have future at Vale
Chairman Paul Wildes says that midfielder Ryan Burge still has a future at Vale Park despite the 24 year-old facing internal disciplinary action.
He’s got it wrong on this occasion, but that doesn’t mean he has no future at the club. That will be for Micky to decide…
Burge was heavily criticised by manager Micky Adams for being late for a team meal and the midfielder got into even more hot water with a string of tweets apparently contradicting the club’s view of events.
Burge was dropped from the side to face Bristol Rovers and Adams confirmed that the player would face disciplinary action.
According to chairman Paul Wildes, Burge broke the club’s social media guidelines and he told the Sentinel:
“Ryan has been silly and we will deal with it internally.
“We have to remember he’s a young lad. He’s got it wrong on this occasion, but that doesn’t mean he has no future at the club. That will be for Micky to decide.”
